La Butte Vachon
The gallery grave ( French Allée couverte ) La Butte Vachon (also called Allée couverte des Déserts or Argenteuil 1 ) is one of the megalithic complexes in the Val-d'Oise department . It is located in Argenteuil , northwest of Paris and was placed under protection in 1943.
The submerged facility was discovered in 1867. It is 13 m long and consists of rows of dry masonry covered with four slabs of sandstone .
In the triangle between Rouen , Chartres and Soissons , 34 other similar systems were found. This also includes the Argenteuil 2 plant, which was only found in the underground of the Vivez company in 1946 . It contained hundreds of bone beads, stone axes, arrowheads and blades. Both plants are now in the middle of town.
