La Cumbre is a small town in the northern Punilla Valley in the central Argentine province of Córdoba . The city has 7,235 inhabitants and, with its suburbs Los Cocos and San Esteban, forms a small agglomeration with 8,927 inhabitants.

The place is located on a 1200 meter high plateau, which is where the name comes from: Cumbre means summit in Spanish, meaning the highest point of the Punilla Valley. Because of the high and unprotected location, the place has a relatively harsh climate with moderately warm summers (19 ° C) and cold winters (6 ° C) with occasional snowfall.

La Cumbre is best known as a tourist center. The processions to the Kreuzberg during Easter week are particularly famous. Furthermore, La Cumbre is the starting point for the Camino de los Artesanos , a hiking and driving path to La Falda , where several artisans have settled.

The cityscape of La Cumbre outside the center is characterized by villas in the style of English country houses, which is also due to the fact that many English immigrants have settled in the area. Furthermore, La Cumbre is also the seat of a numerically relatively significant Jewish community.

In the vicinity of La Cumbre there are several reservoirs that supply the area with drinking water and electricity.
