La soñadora was a Mexican film from 1917, the film directors Eduardo Arozamena and Enrique Rosas from 1917. The silent film was a melodrama and told the story of an unhappy love. The artist Ernesto describes his love for Emma to his friends, who first modeled for him and then became his lover. One day she suddenly disappeared from his life. Six years later, Emma returns to Ernesto and tells him that she was imprisoned for six years for killing her rival for the love of another man. Ernesto is now a soldier and responsible for prisoners. When he escaped one of the detainees, he was accused of being a traitor. In the following argument, Ernesto is shot. At the end of the film, Emma finds out about his death and collapses.

The film was produced by Azteca Films and shot on the studio premises in Mexico City . La soñadora had a complex narrative structure with flashbacks for the time it was written. First Ernesto's and then Emma's life story is portrayed from the framework plot. Sara García , who would become one of the most popular Mexican actresses in the following years, can be seen in a supporting role.
