Life

She was an important figure in early Mexican cinema . Together with Enrique Rosas , she founded the film production company Azteca Films , which produced five films. In 1917 Mimí Derba starred in En defensa propia , the first feature-length film shot in the Mexican capital. She was the director of the film La Tigresa , made that same year , making her the first woman in Mexico to direct a film.
