Alma de sacrificio is a Mexican film by the film directors Joaquín Coss and Enrique Rosas from 1917. The silent film is a melodrama and tells the story of the sisters Catalina, played by Emilia Ruiz del Castillo , and Rosa, played by Mimí Derba . Catalina has an illegitimate child, which endangers her planned wedding to the pianist Luciano. That is why her sister Rosa poses as the mother of the child and thus enables the marriage. Alma de sacrificio was produced by Azteca Films . The musical accompaniment for the film was created by the well-known Mexican composer Miguel Lerdo de Tejada . The Filmografia mexicana of the Filmoteca de la UNAM leads Coss as the only director of the film.
