En la sombra was a Mexican film from 1917. The film directors are Joaquín Coss and Enrique Rosas out some publications recorded even Rosas in this function. The silent film is a melodrama . A famous singer receives a letter from a young woman. In him, she offers him an affair if the singer follows her terms. He agrees and so the two have sexual intercourse a few times, whereby the woman is always covered and thus leaves him in the dark about her identity. At a meeting, the singer then numbs his playmate with chloroform and finds out that it is the wife of one of his friends. However, he accidentally kills her with the narcotic. At the end of the film, the singer wakes up and it turns out he was just having one nightmare.

The film was produced by Azteca Films and shot on the studio premises in Mexico City . After La soñadora , La tigresa , Alma de sacrificio and En defensa propia, it was the fifth and last film by this production company. En la sombra has not been fully preserved.
