The Lac Vanasse is a lake in the administrative region Nord-du-Québec in the Canadian province of Quebec .
Lac Vanasse is located in the north of the Ungava Peninsula , about 50 km south of the Hudson Strait . The lake is at an altitude of about 325 m . The circular lake has a diameter of 6 km and an area of 27 km². It is drained on its southeast bank from the Rivière Kovik to Hudson Bay .
Lac Vanasse was named after the historian Fabien Vanasse , who accompanied the polar explorer Joseph-Elzéar Bernier on his expeditions from 1906–1911.
