The Lac de Saint-Pardoux is a reservoir created for tourism in the Haute-Vienne department in France . The lake, 25 km north of Limoges , is the second largest lake in Haute-Vienne with a water surface of 3.30 km² after Lac de Vassivière . It was created in 1977 by building a dam on the Couze , a tributary of the Gartempe . Of the 330 hectares of water area, 192 hectares are reserved for quiet water sports such as sailing , pedal boating , swimming and canoeing , 88 hectares for sports with motorboats and 50 hectares for fishing . There is a water sports base and several campsites by the lake.
