Lacroix is an impact crater on the western edge of the front of the moon , north of the Schickard whale plain . The crater rim is moderately eroded. In the southeast it is overlaid by the Lacroix J secondary crater . The interior of the crater is largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French mathematician Sylvestre Lacroix .
