description

The Ladingin has a straight, single-edged, bulbous blade. The blade widens from the handle to the location . The blade has neither a hollow grind nor a central ridge. The back of the blade is straight and longer than the cutting edge. The cutting edge becomes bulbous in the local area and is rounded to the site. The pommel is usually made of horn . It has no guard and is carved and decorated in various ways . The most common are:

  • The pommel is worked in a similar way to horns at the end. The horns are flat and rounded at the end. This form is called Sukul Ngangan or Sukul Katungangan . He belongs to the group of the Sukul booklet.
  • The second form looks a knotted cat's tail similar or is named after ( indon. Hulu Iku Mie , Engl. As the knotted cat's tail ).

The sheaths are made of wood and are wrapped with rattan ribbons. In some versions, a thin point is worked out at the location area. The Ladingin is used by ethnic groups from Sumatra.
