Ladislav Vycpálek
Ladislav Vycpálek (born February 23, 1882 in Vršovice , † January 9, 1969 in Prague ) was a Czech composer.
Vycpálek studied philology at the University of Prague and was from 1908 to 1912 composition student of Vítězslav Novák . From 1907 he worked in the University Library (later the National Library) in Prague. In 1922 he founded their music department, which he headed until his retirement in 1942. As a composer, he mainly made vocal music (cantatas, a requiem, choral works and songs), and he also composed two variation fantasies for orchestra and chamber music.
