Laekvere (German: Ladikfer ) was a rural community in the Estonian district of Lääne-Viru with an area of 352.42 km². It had 1743 inhabitants (as of 2010). Laekvere was about 40 km from Rakvere .
In addition to the main town of Laekvere (516 inhabitants), the municipality included the villages of Alekvere, Arukse, Ilistvere, Kaasiksaare, Kellavere, Luusika, Moora, Muuga, Paasvere, Padu, Rahkla, Rajaküla, Rohu, Salutaguse, Sirevere, Sootaguse, Vassivere and Venevere.
The historic Muuga manor house is particularly worth seeing. It was built in 1866 by Carl Timoleon von Neff . Much of the extensive art collection was destroyed between 1941 and 1944. A school has been located in the manor house since 1945. A monument to the Estonian writer Eduard Vilde , who came from the community, has been preserved in the park .
