The Lafond Bay is a 5 km wide bay on the north coast of Trinity Peninsula in the north of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located south of the Cockerell Peninsula .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped the area during survey work in the years 1960 to 1961. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the bay in 1964 after the Navy Lieutenant Pierre Antoine Lafond (1814-1890), officer on board the Astrolabe with the Third French Antarctic expedition (1837–1840) led by polar explorer Jules Dumont d'Urville .
