Lagares is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in Portugal .

Lagares belongs to the Felgueiras district in the Porto district in the Norte region . The community had an area of ​​2.8 km² and 2325 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Lagares, Varziela , Moure , Margaride (Santa Eulália) and Várzea were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Margaride (Santa Eulália), Várzea, Lagares, Varziela e Moure .
