The Lagenida are an order of shell-bearing, sea-dwelling unicellular organisms from the group of foraminifera .
features
The species of the order secrete their housings from low-magnesium calcite (<5 mol% magnesium ). The housings are perforated, single-chamber or multi-chamber with either a serial or planispiral arrangement of the chambers, the wall is monolamellar.

The order has been fossilized since the Upper Triassic and consists of two superfamilies:
