Camini is an Italian city in the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria in Calabria with 745 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Camini is 135 km northeast of Reggio Calabria . Another district is Ellera. The neighboring municipalities are Riace , Stignano and Stilo .

history

The place has been inhabited since ancient times. The name is probably derived from the chimneys of the ceramic stoves ( Greek Kaminion ).

Attractions

The A Turri, a tower from the 16th century, is worth seeing. In the church of Santa Maria Assunta in Cielo old frescoes can be seen.
