Port of the city on the Strait of Messina

Villa San Giovanni's economy is strongly linked to the sea. Due to its location, besides the port of Reggio Calabria, it is the main connection point with the Sicilian Messina . Villa San Giovanni is located on the north-south connection E 45 . Numerous ferries depart from here, including those of the Bluvia line, a subsidiary of Italian railways. These are also used to translate trains to Sicily.
