Placanica ( Greek Παγκανικα Paganica , Graeco-Calabrian: Mocta Paganica, Lakònika ) is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1111 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria in Calabria .

The municipality is located about 77 kilometers east-northeast of Reggio Calabria on Fiumara Precariti and belongs to the Comunità montana Stilaro-Allaro-Limina . It is 6.5 kilometers to the south-east to the Ionian Sea.
