Campo Calabro is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4521 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria in Calabria . The municipality is located about 11 kilometers north-northeast of Reggio Calabria .

history

In 1894, the villages in the municipality were seriously affected by an earthquake. In 1950 Campo Calabro was incorporated into the neighboring community of Villa San Giovanni , but soon regained the status of an independent community.
