Staiti is an Italian city in the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria in Calabria with 212 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Staiti is located 75 km east of Reggio Calabria on the southeast slope of Aspromonte . The neighboring municipalities are Africo , Bova , Brancaleone , Bruzzano Zeffirio and Palizzi . The place consists of the two districts Tridetti and Farcò.

Attractions

There is a church in the village, which originally dates back to the Middle Ages. It was restored in the 18th century.

Outside the village are the ruins of the Romanesque-Norman church of Santa Maria di Tridetti , originally built in the 11th century. The church belonged to a Basilian monastery . The church faces east and is divided into three aisles.
