Serrata is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 813 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria in Calabria . The municipality is located about 59.5 kilometers northeast of Reggio Calabria on the Mesima and borders directly on the province of Vibo Valentia .

The north-western edge of the municipality is the A3 autostrada from Naples to Reggio Calabria . The former Strada Statale 536 di Acquaro (now a provincial road) leads through the municipality from Sant'Angelo di Gerocarne to Taurianova .
