Location and dates

Marina di Gioiosa Ionica is 104 km northeast of Reggio Calabria on the eastern side of the Serre . The neighboring municipalities are the town of Gioiosa Ionica , to which it belonged until 1948, Grotteria and Roccella Ionica .

The station is on the Taranto – Reggio di Calabria railway line and was the starting point for the Gioiosa Jonica – Mammola narrow-gauge railway .
