Situation center

A situation center is an organizational unit within an authority or facility that centrally monitors and administers a certain situation . The situation center collects, bundles and evaluates information such as situation reports and forwards them to management bodies. It has no direct leadership or management function.

The Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Aid (BBK) in Bonn operates the Joint Reporting and Situation Center (GMLZ) as the backbone of the federal disaster risk management and aid.
