Career

In January 1985 the guitarist and songwriter formed his first rock band in Tucson with the Sidewinders . However, due to legal reasons, the band had to rename itself in 1991 to Sand Rubies . In 1992, Rich Hopkins began his solo career with the Luminarios . The accompanying band consists of changing members. In 1993 he started another - but short-lived - project with the Woodcocks . In 1995 he toured Germany for the first time in the opening act of Chris Cacavas , followed in 1997 by his first tour through Germany with the Luminarios.

In addition to his own pieces, Rich Hopkins also plays many classics from the 1960s and 1970s at his concerts, drawing on the repertoire of the Beatles , Bob Dylan and Neil Young , with whom he is repeatedly compared.

On August 13, 2008, Rich Hopkins and Sidewinders / Sand Rubies partner David Slutes were honored to be inducted into the Tucson Hall Of Fame.

In April 2009 the album "A Tribute To The Godfather Of Desert Rock: RICH HOPKINS" will be released, which was initiated and produced by his fan club on the occasion of his 50th birthday.

On April 14, 2013, the Berlin-based internet radio rockradio.de broadcast as a non-profit registered association in its section "rockradio.de-on concert" Rich Hopkins with his band LUMINARIOS live from Chester's Music Inn in Berlin.
