Lagoon Waltz

The lagoon waltz is a waltz by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 411). The work was premiered on November 4, 1883 under the direction of Eduard Strauss in the concert hall of the Wiener Musikverein.

Remarks

The composer has put the work together based on motifs from the operetta One Night in Venice . The main theme of the waltz is the song Oh, how so wonderful to look at are all the lovely women . The waltz joins a series of compositions (opus numbers 412 , 413 , 414 , 415 and 416 ) that take up all the themes from the operetta One Night in Venice .

The playing time is about 7 minutes plus minus a few seconds, depending on the musical understanding of the respective conductor.
