The Lakatnik Point (English; Bulgarian нос Лакатник nos Lakatnik ) is a headland on the northwest coast of Smith Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . As an extension of Neofit Peak , it is 10.5 km north-northeast of Cape James and 20.5 km southwest of Cape Smith .
Bulgarian scientists mapped it in 2008. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it that same year after the village of Lakatnik in western Bulgaria .
