Lake Brooks is a lake in southwest Alaska on the Alaska Peninsula .
The 19 m high and 75 km² large lake is completely in the Katmai National Park . The lake is drained on the northeast bank via the 2.7 km long Brooks River to the north and east of Naknek Lake . On the east bank of the lake is a landing pad for seaplanes, Lake Brooks Seaplane Base ( IATA : BKF), which is a starting point for tours into the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes .
The lake was named after Alfred Hulse Brooks (1871-1924), 1903-1924 at the United States Geological Survey (USGS) chief geologist for Alaska.
