The Lake Shetek State Park is a state park in the southwest of the State of Minnesota near Currie . It is named after the adjacent Lake Shetek , the largest lake in southwest Minnesota. It is a popular destination for campers and those looking for relaxation with designated areas for picnics, volleyball , football , swimming, sport fishing , playgrounds and much more. There are also historical monuments commemorating the Dakota War of 1862 , including an original wooden hut.
