Lakh Mazar inscription

The Lakh Mazar inscription of the village of Kutsch ( Kooch ) 25 km south of Birdschand , Iran , is an important historical testimony of the region. The inscription consists of several fine drawings and engravings on the surface of an ancient twisted jade-colored rock. The more than 300 motifs of the inscription include pictograms , Arsakid and Sassanid Pahlavi scripts, as well as Arabic and neo-Persian scripts from the early Islamic period to the present day.

The pictogram motifs include human and animal figures, plant motifs and symbols such as the sun, moon, stars, ears, crosses, trees of life , houses and tents.
