Laljo Pontschew

Laljo Marinow Pontschew ( Bulgarian Лалю Маринов Пончев ; born January 13, 1898 in Kalejza , † February 21, 1974 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian writer . He worked under the pseudonym Lamar .

He was politically active and fought against Germany in 1944/45 during the Second World War .

In his works he first came from symbolism . In his poems he made use of provocative imagery . His later works were influenced by Bulgarian folk songs and futurism . In a poem from 1928 he dealt with the life of a village during the First World War . He described his experiences in World War II in a poem written in 1946. In later works he addressed the socialist Bulgaria.

He was honored as a hero of socialist work and the Dimitrov Prize.
