Lancelot Fuhry

Lancelot Fuhry (* 1970 in Berlin ) is a German conductor and Kapellmeister .

Life

After graduating from high school, Fuhry first studied music and history. In 1997 he went to the Musikhochschule Weimar to learn conducting with Nicolás Pasquet . He made his first experiences as a permanent guest conductor of the Mitteldeutsche Kammerphilharmonie Schönebeck .

After graduating from Weimar, he worked as a Junior Fellow in Conducting from 2003 to 2005 at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. From 2005 to 2007 he was Young Conductor in Association with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra .

From 2007 to 2009 he was assistant conductor at the State Orchestra Rheinische Philharmonie in Koblenz. This was followed by a position as 1st Kapellmeister and Deputy General Music Director at the Görlitz Theater (2009–2010).

From 2010 to 2013 he was 1st Kapellmeister and Deputy GMD of the Dortmund Theater . He has been working in the same position at Theater Augsburg since 2013 , and since 2014 as acting general music director.

Fuhry worked as a guest conductor for the DSO Berlin, the German State Philharmonic Rhineland-Palatinate , the South Westphalia and North West German Philharmonics , the Symphony Orchestras of Bochum, Düsseldorf and Nuremberg. Abroad, he conducted the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra , the “George Enescu” Philharmonic Bucharest, the Orchester philharmonique de Strasbourg , the Český národní symfonický orchestr , the Slovenian Radio Symphony Orchestra Ljubljana and the Orchestra of the Graz Theater .
