Nicolás Pasquet

Nicolás Pasquet (* 1958 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan conductor .

Life

Pasquet studied violin and conducting first at the National Conservatory in Montevideo and later at the Stuttgart and Nuremberg Schools of Music . In 1984 and 1986 he won the federal selection of the German Music Council for conductors and in 1987 the first prize of the international competition for young conductors in Besançon .

From 1993 to 1996 he directed the Pécs Symphony Orchestra , from 1996 to 2001 the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic and 2001/2002 (provisional) the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Coburg State Theater .

He initially taught conducting in Nuremberg and has been a professor at the Liszt School of Music Weimar since 1994 , from 2006 to 2014 as dean . Since 2009 he has directed the State Youth Symphony Orchestra Hessen.
