The Landbäckerei Ihle GmbH & Co. KG is a wholesale bakery in Friedberg (Bayern) .
history
The company has been family-owned for four generations. The bakery was founded in 1890 by Georg Ihle in Friedberg. His son Willi Ihle moved it to Dasing in the 1930s . Under Willi Ihle II, the company finally grew into a large regional delivery baker from 1964.
Since 1980 the head office has been in Friedberg again. Since then, branches have also been set up in other places for the first time.
In June 2017 it became known that hygiene deficiencies had been found in the company in 2014 and 2015. The large bakery responded to the hygiene deficiencies in Friedberg and responded with extensive changes. According to Ihle, the older production halls were refurbished, the cleaning staff significantly increased and 4.4 million euros invested in production. Since 2016 there have been “only minor or no defects” in production according to the company's own statements.
Economic data
In 2006 sales were almost 100 million euros. In 2011 it was 136 million euros.
The company employs around 2400 people in 250 branches. This makes it one of the largest companies of its kind in Germany.
Locations
The 250 branches are mainly located in the Augsburg area, but also in the Munich area and in other places in southern Bavaria. They are partly operated independently, partly by independent tenants.
A second production site is located near Gersthofen ; it is intended to ensure further expansion, especially in the Munich area. The development center will also be located there, while the headquarters will remain in Friedberg.
