The Rhineland-Palatinate State Women's Council was founded in 1992. It is based in Mainz . The umbrella organization represents more than 30 women's associations, women's organizations and women's groups in politics, society, science and business. According to the statutes of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Women's Council, the aim of the registered, non-profit association is to promote equality between women and men and to improve the living conditions of women.

The Rhineland-Palatinate State Women's Council is headed by an honorary board. Claudia Rankers, an entrepreneur, has been chairwoman since October 2014 .

activities

Once a year, the Rhineland-Palatinate State Women's Council organizes the half-day event "LFR-Bistro" with more than 100 participants on changing topics. The Rhineland-Palatinate State Women's Council advocates, among other things, the issue of women and finances, particularly with regard to poverty in old age. To this end, he has developed a tax guide with the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Tax Advisors, the Rhineland-Palatinate Women's Ministry and the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Finance. In addition, the Rhineland-Palatinate State Women's Council supports diversity in the world of work through the Diversity Charter . In 2018, the Rhineland-Palatinate State Women's Council, together with WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management, organized the competition “Successful women in medium-sized businesses”. The aim of the competition was to identify role models and to give visibility to successful women in medium-sized businesses. The eight-member jury from science, media and practice (including Marcel Fratzscher , Claudia Rankers, Nadine Kammerlander , Thomas Nettelmann from Südwestrundfunk and Katarzyna Mol from emotion (magazine) ) selected three award winners on the basis of the criteria “sustainable management” and “creating compatibility” .
