Heike Kielstein

Heike Kielstein (* 1970 in Hanover ) is a German anatomist . She heads the Institute for Anatomy and Cell Biology of the Medical Faculty of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the advanced training center for clinical anatomy at the University Hospital Halle (Saale) .

Life

Kielstein studied medicine in Hanover and France from 1989 to 1996 . She received her doctorate in 1998 and completed her habilitation in 2005 at the Hannover Medical School (MHH). From 2007 she held a junior professorship for endocrino-immunology at the MHH. The specialist in anatomy was appointed as W2 professor for anatomy at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in 2011 , and in 2015 she received a W3 professorship.

Act

In her working group, she researches the function of NK cells in obesity . Kielstein was the winner in the “Natural Sciences / Medicine” category in the “Professors of the Year 2017” competition organized by Unicum magazine .
