Landesklootschießerverband Ostfriesland

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Landesklootschießerverband Ostfriesland (LKV) is the umbrella organization of the Boßel and Klootschießervereine in East Friesland (→ main article: Boßeln ). It represents around 25,800 members. The LKV is a member of the Lower Saxony State Sports Association .

history

The association was founded in Esens in August 1947 . The aim was "to bring our old home game, Klootschießen and Boßeln, back to life after the terrible Second World War" and to form a joint organization for the six East Frisian district associations. Manfred Wieting from Esens was elected chairman.

The LKV does not only see itself as a sports association. He has also committed himself by statute, “for the preservation of the Frisian character in all cultural areas. . . to step in and in particular to preserve and promote the Low German language ”.

In the first years of its existence, the LKV organized national competitions in Klootschießen against Oldenburg and Schleswig-Holstein , the other traditional strongholds of this sport. The so-called field fight against the throwers from the Klootschießerlandesverband Oldenburg is still the sporting highlight of every Klootschießer season - if it comes about. The prerequisite for the competition is that the ground is frozen solid .

In 1965, the league game operations began in the men's street booßeln; since 1974/75 there is the single-track national league as the top division. The point game operation for women began in 1976/77.

structure

The association is a registered association based in Esens. The six East Frisian district associations Aurich, Esens, Friedeburg, Leer, Norden and Wittmund belong to it.

Together with the Klootschießerlandesverband Oldenburg, the LKV forms the Frisian Klootschießer-Verband (FKV) and provides the squad for national and international championships.

Point games

The district associations organize the Straßenboßeln point game operation in district classes and district leagues in up to eleven age groups - youth F (younger than eight years) to men V (70 years and older). As far as available in the respective age groups, the district champions rise to the East Friesland-wide game classes after the promotion rounds have been carried out. The teams consist of two groups of four throwers each (Men I: four groups), one group throwing a rubber ball and the other a plastic ball (called "wood").

At the LKV level, the point game time is played in five age groups in up to three game classes with ten teams each.

The winners of the national leagues men I and women I carry the title of Ostfrieslandmeister. At the end of the 2011/2012 season, the men's record with 20 out of 37 possible titles is the Boßelverein Gute Hope Pfalzdorf , followed by Frei Weg Blomberg (seven titles). For women, Ihlowerfehn (8) is ahead of Blomberg (7).

The first three winners of the state leagues Men I and Women I are qualified for the final round of the Frisian Klootschießerverband against the representatives of the Klootschießerlandesverband Oldenburg.

State championships

In the age groups in which there are no regional league games (youth A to F, men IV and V, women III and IV), the East Friesland champions are determined at the annual state championships. The respective district champions as well as the runner-up from the large district associations Aurich, Esens and Norden are qualified for this. In addition, the LKV has been organizing state individual championships since 1977, also with the participation of the best bosses from the district associations.

East Frisia Cup

In the 1983/84 season, the LKV introduced a cup competition for clubs. Each club competes with men I and II, women and youth A and C. This mix of young and old means that clubs that do not have a national league team have a good chance of success. The Ostfriesland Cup is played in three preliminary rounds according to the knockout system and in a final round of the last eight as a tournament with points evaluation. Most recently, around 60 clubs took part in the cup competition. Reigning cup winner (2011/2012 season) is Gute Hoffnung Pfalzdorf.

Klootschießen

The klootschieten is traditionally a tournament sport. The LKV and its district associations organize various tournaments for individual and team championships at district and association level. To a small extent, there is also a point game operation in five divisions - regional league, district league west / east, district league north / south - with three to five teams each.
