Mecklenburg State Theater Parchim
The Mecklenburg State Theater Parchim is a theater in Parchim in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
history
In 1945 the theater was founded in the former "Hotel Graf Moltke" (Blutstraße 16) as a colorful stage and opened under the direction of Rolf Roeder with a cabaret program "Tante Lene - hü - hü". In October 1948, after a short renovation phase, the stage was reopened as a Parchimer district theater under the direction of Fred Sabo with Lessing's Nathan the Wise . After the theater ensemble in Ludwigslust was finally dissolved in 1949 as a result of a theater fire in 1947, part of the ensemble there moved to the theater now known as the Parchim State Theater. During the GDR era, the Parchimer Haus was a multi-branch theater and also offered musical theater performances with its own ensemble of singers and a small orchestra.
Since June 1990 the theater has been called Mecklenburgisches Landestheater Parchim . After 1990 the music theater division was closed; since then the theater has only had one acting ensemble. In addition to plays for adults, the theater places particular emphasis on performances for children, young people and families. In the theater's youth theater club, which was founded in 2006, young people also take to the stage themselves.
In January 2014 the large hall and the painting room of the theater were closed due to structural defects. The theater currently plays in the Parchim town hall, the remise in the district administration and in the theater restaurant. In addition, the theater is also on the road in different locations in the district. A new house is planned for 2016 in the former Elde-Mühle, the state has provided 5 million euros for this.
In the course of the theater reform, the "Mecklenburgische Landestheater Parchim" merged with the "Schweriner Staatstheater '" to form a "Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater gGmbH". The state takes over 74.9%, Schwerin and the district Ludwigslust-Parchim each 10% and the city of Parchim 5.1%. The previous Parchimer Theater will in future be called "Young State Theater Parchim", the directorship in Parchim will continue to be held by Thomas-Ott-Albrecht, while Lars Tietje will take over the general management.
Today there are nine actors in the ensemble (as of 2014). Director Thomas Ott-Albrecht is in charge of the theater . In the 2013/2014 season, 16,000 spectators attended the theater's performances.
