The North Rhine-Westphalia Health Center (LZG.NRW) is an institution of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . The LZG.NRW is subordinate to the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . It is headquartered in Bochum .

tasks

The State Center for Health in North Rhine-Westphalia acts as a technical control center and supports the state government and municipalities in health issues

  • especially in the areas of epidemiology, prevention and health promotion, combating communicable diseases, hygiene, drug safety and social pharmacy, health reporting and health-related analyzes
  • as well as the drug testing agency of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia

and is entrusted with the

  • Specification of the health campus North Rhine-Westphalia,
  • the development of new supply structures,
  • the promotion of the North Rhine-Westphalian health economy.

history

It was founded on January 1, 2012 from the "Public Health" division of the former LIGA.NRW (until 2007 lögd - State Institute for Public Health Service) and the NRW Health Strategy Center . The regional center currently has around 160 employees at its two locations in Bochum and Münster .

In 2018, the company moved to the NRW health campus in Bochum with the drug testing center in Münster.
