The two-storey, clinkered, highly differentiated villa with a hipped roof and the distinctive, heavily decorated, octagonal porch was built in 1911/12 at the turn of the century in a country house style for the petroleum merchant Henry Lamotte. He was the father of the entrepreneur Hans Henry Lamotte .
The one- and two-story, plastered Hofmeierhaus with hip and gable roofs (formerly the estate manager's seat) stands on the edge of the area.
Garden architect Ernst Brons planned the outdoor facilities.
The estate was 17 hectares.

The ecology station association from 1979 uses the area as an ecology station in Bremen . The city of Bremen bought the estate in 1980 for around 1.4 million DM.

In 2008 the villa was sold with part of the property. Only the Hofmeierhaus and parts of the outdoor area have been used by the ecology station since then. Today (2018) the villa is used as a residential building.
