The landscape protection area Hasper Talsperre with an area of ​​216.16  ha is located in the area of ​​the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.

The LSG consists of a large main area and three smaller areas in the east. The Hasper Bach nature reserve separates these areas from the main area. In the west and south of the city of Ennepetal are forest areas . In the north, the Kettelberg and Hof Wahl nature reserve borders the LSG. To the east is the Breckerfeld nature reserve in the urban area of Breckerfeld .

The Hasper dam and forest area with streams and disused quarry areas are located in the LSG .

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, the designation was made “to maintain and restore the efficiency of the natural balance, in particular by ensuring the raw water quality for the drinking water production of the Hasper dam, because of the diversity, peculiarity and beauty of the landscape, in particular of the streams and quarries and because of the special importance of the forest area for recreational use geared towards experiencing nature ”.
