The landscape protection area Eilper Berg / Langenberg with an area of ​​754.28  ha is located in the area of ​​the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen. Allotments were planned in the Eilper Feld area when the landscape plan was designated.

In the west, the Mäckinger Bachtal separates the LSG from the Rafflenbeuler Kopf nature reserve . The Selbecker Bach borders in the northwest and the built-up areas of the Eilpe district in the north. The B 54 or the Asmecker Bachtal landscape protection area runs along the eastern border . In the south then the Breckerfeld landscape protection area in the urban area of Breckerfeld and the landscape protection area west of the Priorei . The Helios Klinik Hagen-Ambrock lies like an island in the LSG.

In the LSG there are mainly forest areas that are criss-crossed by numerous stream valleys and smaller areas used for agriculture. The Ambrock ramparts , a medieval refugee castle, are located near Dahl . This facility is designated as a cultural monument. The Grauwacke quarry Ambrock, which is currently being mined, is part of the LSG.

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, the designation was made “to maintain and restore the efficiency of the natural balance, in particular by securing ecologically valuable forest communities and the special habitats for numerous protected and endangered bird species, because of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of the landscape, especially as a large predominantly forest-based area different forest communities and because of the special importance of this green corridor, which extends into the center of Eilper, for recreational use aimed at experiencing nature ”.
