Landscape protection area Kettelberg and Hof Wahl

The nature reserve Kettelberg and Hof Wahl with an area of ​​299.47  hectares is located in the area of ​​the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.

The Selbecke nature reserve borders the LSG in the north and northeast . In the west are forest areas of the city of Ennepetal . The Hasper Talsperre conservation area borders in the south and the Breckerfeld conservation area in the urban area of ​​Breckerfeld in the east .

In the LSG there are mainly forest areas with sieves and agriculturally used plateaus. In the valuable forest area there are partly old stands of grove beech forest.

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, the designation was made “to maintain and restore the efficiency of the natural balance, in particular by securing near-natural habitats and because of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of the landscape”.
