Landscape protection area cultural and open landscape complex Bruchhausen
The landscape protection area cultural and open landscape complex Bruchhausen with 182.8 hectares is located in the urban area of Olsberg . The area was in 2004 by the council of Hochsauerlandkreises with the landscape plan Olsberg as a conservation area designated (LSG). The LSG was designated as one of eleven type B landscape protection areas on the outskirts, open land and cultural landscape protection in the urban area of Olsberg. In the urban area there is also a type A LSG, general landscape protection, and eleven type C, meadow valleys, protection of significant extensive grasslands . The LSG consists of eight sub-areas and borders directly on the outskirts of Bruchhausen and Elleringhausen . The LSG borders directly on the protected area of the Bruchhauser Steine in the east .

The LSG consists of pending open land areas with grassland around the village of Bruchhausen. According to the landscape plan, the LSG also serves as a hunting ground for the peregrine falcon breeding on the Bruchhauser stones and for the great shrike .
Protection purpose
The designation was carried out to ensure the diversity and uniqueness of the landscape in the vicinity of the localities and the old agricultural priority areas by keeping it open. Also because of its special importance for recreation. According to the landscape plan, the LSG also serves to maintain the attractive visual connections to the striking rocky backdrop of the Bruchhauser stones.
Legal regulations
As in the other landscape protection areas in the city, the LSG prohibits building structures. Construction projects for horticulture, agriculture and forestry are exempt from the ban. The Lower Nature Conservation Authority can issue exceptional permits for buildings of all kinds. As in the other type B landscape protection areas in Olsberg, the LSG prohibits first afforestation and the creation of Christmas trees , ornamental branches and tree nursery cultures .
As in all landscape planning areas of type B and type C in the urban area, there is a requirement to keep the LSG free from forest cover through agricultural use or through maintenance measures.
