The landscape protection area Ostfriesische Seemarsch between the north and Esens is a landscape protection area in parts of the districts of Aurich and Wittmund of the state of Lower Saxony . It bears the number LSG AUR 00029 in the Aurich area and the number LSG WTM 00025 in the Wittmund area. As the lower nature conservation authority, the district of Aurich and the district of Wittmund are responsible for the area that is used to protect the EU bird sanctuary V63 “ East Frisian maritime march between the north and Esens ”.

Description of the area

The landscape protection area designated in 2010 in Wittmunder and 2011 in Aurich area covers an area of ​​88.59 square kilometers, which extends from Norddeich in the west to Neuharlingersiel in the east. Of this, 63.1 square kilometers are in the Aurich district and 25.49 square kilometers in the Wittmund district. In the north it borders directly on the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park .
