The Landstrasse Schenefeld-Elmshorn (abbreviation: LSE) is incorrectly referred to as a road connection between Schenefeld and Pinneberg . The route takes its name from the original plan to build a continuous connection between Schenfeld and Elmshorn .
For decades, the route ended badly on the western outskirts of Pinneberg. Only since September 2019, when the Pinneberger Westring was opened, has a continuously drivable road from the Pinneberg-Nord junction of the A23 to Schenefeld and further to the western Hamburg districts existed . The LSE therefore primarily serves to relieve the busy Autobahn 23 in the Pinneberg district .
With the exception of the Westring in Pinneberg, the LSE is consistently shown as state road 103.
