Sindre Pettersen (born November 3, 1996 in Tønsberg ) is a Norwegian biathlete and former Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Sindre Pettersen comes from Nittedal and starts for Nittedal SSK . He contested his first international races in 2016 at the Junior World Championships in Romania. His best individual result was a sixth place in the sprint, in the relay race he just missed the medal ranks with the Norwegian team in fourth. At the 2017 Junior World Championships in Slovakia, he won gold in the individual competition, silver in the pursuit and - together with Dag Sander Bjørndalen , Johannes Dale and Aleksander Fjeld Andersen - in the relay race. The rest of the winter 2016/17 he started in the IBU Cup , in Otepää he finished second in the mixed relay races with Karoline Erdal , Sigrid Bilstad Neraasen and Fredrik Gjesbakk and a few days later with Neraasen, Rikke Hald Andersen and Henrik L'Abée -Lund first. After Pettersen only made an international appearance in one race in the 2017/18 season , the sprint in the IBU Cup in Sjusjøen , he was used in the first World Cup of the season on the Pokljuka plateau in Slovenia in winter 2018/19 . With a 44th place in the individual race, he just missed the points in his first World Cup appearance, in the sprint he achieved a top 10 result with a sixth place, which was followed by a 13th place in the pursuit race. After a bad 87th place in the sprint at the World Cup in Hochfilzen , Pettersen only ran in the second-rate IBU Cup for the rest of the season . There, in addition to a victory in the super sprint in Obertilliach, he achieved four other top 10 placements by the end of the season.
