Aleksander Fjeld Andersen (born April 15, 1997 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian biathlete .

Career

Aleksander Fjeld Andersen contested his first international races at the 2016 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Cheile Grădiştei. There he won silver in the individual race and together with Endre Strømsheim and Harald Øygard gold in the relay race. The following winter he took part in his first race in the IBU Cup , and on his second start he achieved a top 10 place with eighth place in the sprint in Beitostølen . In 2017 he took part in the Junior World Championships again, but could only win a silver medal in the relay race. After a winter without international competitions, he started regularly in the IBU Cup from the 2018/19 season . He achieved his first podium finish when he finished third with just one shooting error in the Martell sprint . He achieved his first victory in December 2019 at the sprint in Obertilliach . Andersen was nominated for the first time for racing in the Biathlon World Cup in December 2019 . In Hochfilzen , he immediately achieved World Cup points in sprint and pursuit races. He also took part in the 2020 European Biathlon Championships in Minsk and - together with Åsne Skrede , Ida Lien and Sivert Guttorm Bakken - won bronze in the relay race and bronze in the sprint.
