State election in Lippe 1929
The state election in Lippe on January 6, 1929 was the election for the 4th state parliament in the Free State of Lippe , a small state of the Weimar Republic . The SPD Lippe emerged from the election with clear gains as again the strongest force. The big loser was the DNVP .
prehistory
In the state elections in Lippe in 1925 , the SPD had made slight gains and remained the strongest faction. It continued to form a coalition with the DDP and the DVP . Heinrich Drake continued to head the state government .

The right to vote provided for a state parliament with 21 members, who were to be elected in free, equal, direct and secret ballot using proportional representation. Minimum age was 20 years.
In the 1928 Reichstag election , the SPD in Lippe had grown slightly and the DNVP suffered a slump, thus anticipating the tendency of the state election.

The turnout fell to 76.33%, the percentage of invalid votes 1.68%. The valid votes were distributed as follows:

SPD, DDP and DVP continued their coalition , which formed the state presidium under Heinrich Drake (SPD).
Socio-economic structure of the MPs
The proportion of women in MPs was 3.7%. The overwhelming number of MPs, namely 15 out of 27, came from the cities, but the proportion of MPs from rural communities reached a high of 44.4%. With 6 MPs or 22%, a disproportionately large number of MPs came from Detmold, but this proportion was the lowest in all Lippe elections in the Weimar Republic.
