Landwüst is the name of a Saxon-Thuringian nobility from the Vogtland .

history

In 1319 the name of the Vogtland town Landwüst was first mentioned in a document as Lantwste . The noble lords of Landwüst were first mentioned in a document with Bernhard Hermann von Landwüst in 1325. The family line begins in 1480 with Hans von Landwüst. The former manor was abandoned early, in the middle of the fifteenth century the von Landwüsts disappeared from the Vogtland.

The von Landwüst family had other possessions in Central Germany, such as the Großgestewitz manor from the 15th to 18th centuries (Göstelitz 1444; Gross-Göstewitz 1501–1753), Casekirchen, Gladitz, (Unter-) Greißlau, Hohenmölsen and Holsteitz. The family belonged to the knighthood of Naumburg in the 16th century. In 1529 Hans von Landwüst was bailiff of Weißenfels.

One representative is Christian Ludwig Hartmann from Landwüst .

On blue a silver bar covered with three roses (or on red a black bar covered with three blue roses, or on red a silver bar covered with three red roses inseminated with gold). On the helmet a golden or red-silver-red divided jug (urn, cup) with two handles between two red-silver-red divided flags, the rods of which are wrapped in red-silver and provided with golden tips. The blankets are red silver or blue silver.
