The Langenberg is a 327.3 m high elevation and marks the Hessian-Thuringian border and the corridor boundary between the Hessian town pegs (Werra) , local Leimbach and the Thuringian city Werra-Suhl Valley , districts Abteroda , Gasteroda and Dippach in Wartburg circle in Thuringia .

The unforested Langenberg has been used for agriculture for centuries. In the Middle Ages, a branch led across the mountain from the Hohen Strazza to Dankmarshausen (ravines in the area).
